*November 24, 2025* — Navy Federal Credit Union has agreed to pay $1.72 million to settle a class action lawsuit alleging violations of the Electronic Funds Transfer Act.

## What Navy Federal Allegedly Did

The lawsuit claims Navy Federal failed to properly investigate and resolve customer disputes over unauthorized electronic fund transfers. Under the Electronic Funds Transfer Act, financial institutions must investigate disputed transactions within specific timeframes and provide provisional credit to customers.

According to the complaint, Navy Federal either failed to investigate disputes, took too long to resolve them, or failed to provide required provisional credits while investigations were pending.

## Who's Eligible

You may qualify if you were a Navy Federal Credit Union member who reported unauthorized electronic fund transfers or disputed transactions and experienced delays in resolution or did not receive provisional credit as required by law.

The settlement will provide compensation to affected members.

## What Happens Next
