Mile Hi Foods Data Breach Settlement: Employees Can Claim Up to $3,500

December 16, 2025 — Mile Hi Foods Co. has agreed to pay up to $400,000 to settle a class action lawsuit over a September 2024 data breach that exposed employee Social Security numbers and other personal information.

What Happened

On September 13, 2024, Mile Hi Foods discovered that a cybercriminal had accessed its network and stolen files containing employee data. The breach exposed names and Social Security numbers of current and former employees — the exact information identity thieves need to open fraudulent accounts in your name.

Mile Hi Foods denies any wrongdoing but agreed to settle to avoid further litigation costs.

Who's Eligible

You may be eligible if you're a current or former Mile Hi Foods employee who received a data breach notification letter from the company regarding the September 2024 incident.

What You Can Claim

The settlement offers several options:

  • Up to $500 for ordinary out-of-pocket expenses related to the breach (bank fees, phone charges, postage, etc.) — requires documentation
  • Up to $3,000 for extraordinary losses like identity theft or fraud directly caused by the breach — requires documentation
  • $50 flat cash payment if you don't have documented losses — no proof required
  • Two years of free credit monitoring through one bureau

You can claim the cash payment OR the loss reimbursements (not both), plus everyone can get the free credit monitoring regardless of which option they choose.

How to File

What Happens Next
