Michael Kors Outlet Settlement: Shoppers Could Get a $30 Merchandise Certificate

Michael Kors has agreed to an up to $2 million settlement to resolve a class action lawsuit alleging its outlet stores used misleading discounts to trick shoppers into thinking they were getting a deal.

The lawsuit claimed that Michael Kors outlet stores advertised "discounted" prices based on inflated reference prices that were never the actual prices of the products. According to the complaint, the discounts were essentially permanent — meaning shoppers were allegedly paying full price while being led to believe they were saving money.

Michael Kors has not admitted any wrongdoing.

Who qualifies

The settlement covers anyone in the United States who made a purchase at a Michael Kors Outlet store between May 10, 2019, and November 14, 2025.

If you're a KORSVIP account holder with a California or Oregon mailing address on file and you made a qualifying purchase at a California or Oregon Michael Kors Outlet store during that period, you don't need to do anything — your $30 merchandise certificate will be sent to you automatically via email.

Everyone else who made a qualifying purchase during the class period will need to file a claim to get their certificate.

What you can get

Eligible class members can receive a $30 merchandise certificate that can be used toward any single in-store purchase at a Michael Kors Outlet store. The certificate can be combined with other discounts available to the general public, but it can't be used for cash or to buy gift cards. It expires 90 days after it's issued.

How to file

You have until March 20, 2026 to file your claim. You don't need a receipt — just confirm that you made a qualifying purchase and that you didn't receive a refund or credit for it.
