Huggies Sued Over "Hypoallergenic" Claim After Parents Report Skin Reactions

Huggies is being sued over its Little Movers diapers after parents say the "hypoallergenic" label doesn't match reality.
A class action lawsuit filed in New York federal court on March 6 alleges that Kimberly-Clark, the company behind Huggies, falsely markets its Little Movers diapers as hypoallergenic and safe for sensitive skin — even though the diapers allegedly contain ingredients that can cause skin irritation.
Plaintiff Jasmine Rojas claims Kimberly-Clark quietly changed the formulation of the diapers without telling consumers. According to the lawsuit, the updated diapers include a new interior blue lining that parents have linked to a chemical smell and skin reactions in their children. Reviews on the Huggies website show parents noticing the change and reporting rashes and irritation — many of whom say they never had issues with the same diapers before.

The lawsuit also alleges that the ingredients in the hypoallergenic version are similar to those in the non-hypoallergenic version, raising the question of what actually makes them different.
This isn't the first time the company has faced these claims. A separate class action making the same allegations was filed on November 25, 2025, also in New York federal court. That lawsuit, filed by plaintiff Alyssa Burns, alleges Kimberly-Clark materially altered the composition of the diapers within the past year and continued marketing them as hypoallergenic while parents reported unusually strong and severe skin reactions — including rashes and what some described as chemical burns.
Both lawsuits allege violations of New York consumer protection laws. The Rojas lawsuit seeks to represent anyone in New York who purchased Huggies Little Movers hypoallergenic diapers. The earlier Burns lawsuit seeks to represent a nationwide class.
There is no settlement in either case at this time.
