Fanatics Settles Class Action Over "Free Shipping" Handling Fees: How to Claim Your Vouchers

Fanatics has agreed to a class action settlement over claims it charged customers a "handling fee" while advertising "Free Shipping" on its websites.
The lawsuit, Cavanaugh v. Fanatics LLC, was filed in Miami-Dade County, Florida. According to the complaint, Fanatics promised free or flat-rate shipping at checkout but tacked on a separate handling fee on the same orders — which plaintiffs argue is just shipping under a different name. The suit alleges this violated Florida's consumer protection laws.
Fanatics denies any wrongdoing and has not admitted liability, but agreed to settle to avoid the cost and risk of trial.
Who's eligible
Check if you qualify for this settlement
You qualify if you ordered merchandise from a Fanatics website between May 6, 2018 and March 30, 2026 and paid a handling fee on the order. A full list of covered Fanatics websites is available through the settlement.
What you could get
Class members can claim two $5 vouchers to use on Fanatics.com. No minimum purchase required, but the two vouchers can't be combined on the same order.
How to File
You have until August 27, 2026 to file your claim. If Fanatics emailed you a notice, your claim form needs the Claim ID and PIN from that email. If you didn't get an email but believe you qualify, you can still submit a claim — you may be asked for proof like a credit card statement or order confirmation showing the handling fee.
The final approval hearing is scheduled for September 16, 2026.
